Fiddlers Green Festival is proud to welcome home The Sands Family, Ireland’s first family of folk and the musical heart of the festival since its very beginning.
Born, raised, and based in County Down, The Sands Family have spent decades sharing songs, stories, humour, and music rooted deeply in Irish tradition and community life. Their influence on Irish folk music has extended far beyond Ireland, helping inspire and shape the worldwide appreciation of Irish traditional and folk music over generations.
Few acts are more closely connected to the spirit and identity of Fiddlers Green Festival. From the festival’s earliest days, The Sands Family have been central to its creation, growth, and enduring sense of warmth and welcome. Their performances continue to capture the unique atmosphere that has made the festival so loved by audiences from near and far.
