Fiddlers Green Festival is honoured to welcome Lúnasa, one of the most influential and celebrated bands in the history of Irish traditional music, for a very special concert in Rostrevor.
Formed in 1997 and named after the ancient Celtic harvest festival honouring the god Lugh, Lúnasa emerged from members of some of Ireland’s most iconic traditional groups and quickly established themselves as a revolutionary force within contemporary folk music. Combining exceptional musicianship, dynamic rhythms, and innovative arrangements, they have helped redefine Irish traditional music for audiences around the world.
Over nearly three decades, Lúnasa have sold more than a quarter of a million records and performed more than 2,500 concerts across 36 countries, appearing at prestigious venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Glastonbury Festival, and Bercy Arena in Paris.
Their performances continue to combine tradition with innovation, delivering an energy and musical brilliance that has made them one of Ireland’s most admired and internationally recognised traditional bands.
