£ 25.00

Saturday 18th July 2026 | 7:30pm | St Bronagh’s Social Club, Rostrevor

Fiddlers Green Festival is honoured to welcome Lúnasa, one of the most influential and celebrated bands in the history of Irish traditional music, for a very special Hall of Fame concert in Rostrevor.

Formed in 1997 and named after the ancient Celtic harvest festival honouring the god Lugh, Lúnasa emerged from members of some of Ireland’s most iconic traditional groups and quickly established themselves as a revolutionary force within contemporary folk music. Combining complex arrangements, exceptional musicianship, and a dynamic rhythmic energy, the band redefined the possibilities of traditional Irish music for a global audience.

Over nearly three decades, Lúnasa have sold more than a quarter of a million records and performed over 2,500 concerts across 36 countries, appearing at prestigious venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Glastonbury Festival, and Bercy Arena in Paris. Their collaborations with artists such as Natalie Merchant, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, and Tim O’Brien further expanded their international reach while maintaining a deep connection to the Irish tradition.

The current lineup features an extraordinary collection of musicians including Trevor Hutchinson, Cillian Vallely, Kevin Crawford, Seán Smyth, Colin Farrell, and Ed Boyd — each recognised internationally for their contribution to Irish traditional music.

This concert also marks a significant occasion for the festival as Lúnasa become the 2026 recipients of the prestigious Fiddlers Green Festival Hall of Fame Award. Hand carved by local artist Jim Sherry, the award recognises individuals and groups who have made an outstanding contribution to Irish music and tradition. Previous recipients include legendary names such as The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, Altan, and The Sands Family.

In honouring Lúnasa, Fiddlers Green Festival celebrates a band whose innovation, musicianship, and global influence have helped shape modern Irish traditional music while inspiring audiences and musicians around the world.
