Dan White’s Dander
Join us for the traditional opening walk of the festival, retracing the scenic journey once taken by local shepherd Dan White. Starting from his historic cottage, the route follows the Watergap River up to Slieve Martin, before descending past Cloughmor to Fiddler’s Green—just in time to join the crowd for the outdoor concert and picnic. A perfect blend of storytelling, landscape, and festival spirit.
The Brandy Pad
Step into smuggling history with this dramatic trek through the High Mournes. From the shores of Bloody Bridge to the heights of Hare’s Gap, this challenging walk follows the age-old route of brandy smugglers past mountain castles, reservoirs, and sweeping valleys. A must for the adventurous—and don’t forget your camera.
Rainbow Walk
Recently restored and ready to enjoy again, the Rainbow Walk takes you through varied and vibrant landscapes. Starting at the Yellow Water and winding through the Red Bog and Green Road, this colourful loop through forest and hill is a joyful and scenic outing.
Wind up/Wind down Walk
Ease out of the festival in style with this gentle ascent to Slieve Martin. A relaxed and musical farewell, the walk includes songs, poems, and good company, followed by a casual descent back to the village. Dogs are welcome on this one—perfect for closing the festival with heart and humour.
