No better time and place to sense the connection between people and the rest of nature than at noon on July 22nd in that famous clearing in Rostrevor’s ancient Oak Wood which gives the festival its name, “Fiddler’s Green.” For many years now, locals and visitors alike have followed the footsteps of previous generations on the pathway up the wooded slopes above Rostrevor to meet, picnic, share songs, stories, poems and tunes in the unique event that has become known as “Setting the Scene at Fiddler’s Green”.
Funded by the National Lottery – All events free of charge
In an age when more and more attention is being given to the connection between nature and well being, the need for protecting fragile environments and the growing concern over climate crisis, Fiddler’s Green International Festival 2024 welcomes a return of “In Tune with Nature”, a collaboration of RARE (Rostrevor Action Respecting the Environment) and other local environmental campaign groups and artistes offering a week of art and photographic exhibitions, music, workshops, classes, walks, talks, discussions, film, relaxation and exercise for mind and body, children’s events and pop up performances from visual artistes and musicians.
