11:00  Explore the world of notable, veteran and ancient trees. 

Join Bronagh Gallagher, Community Development Officer at Mourne Park for Woodland Trust Northern Ireland to learn how to identify notable, veteran and ancient trees and what makes them so special. Hear her stories of the incredibly rich and diverse world around us and delve into the secrets of the Ancient Tree Inventory – you may never feel so young again! 

You will also learn how you can use the database to record your own favourite trees. Please wear appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing – 11:00 to 13:00. Meet at the Fairy Glen entrance,(Bridge St, Rostrevor, Newry BT34 3BG)

In an age when more and more attention is being given to the connection between nature and well being, the need for protecting fragile environments and the growing concern over climate crisis, Fiddler’s Green International Festival 2023 welcomes a return of “In Tune with Nature”,  a collaboration of RARE (Rostrevor Action Respecting the Environment) and other local environmental campaign groups and artistes offering a week of art and photographic exhibitions, music, workshops, classes, walks, talks, discussions, film, relaxation and exercise for mind and body, children’s events and pop up performances from visual artistes and musicians.
