Fiddlers Green Festival is delighted to present a special afternoon concert featuring three exceptional musicians from the worlds of Irish traditional and contemporary acoustic music — Eimear McGeown, Rita Farrell, and Sinéad Egan.
Internationally acclaimed flautist Eimear McGeown has established herself as one of the world’s most versatile performers across both classical and Irish flute traditions. Her remarkable career has taken her to prestigious stages throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, including performances at BBC’s Last Night of the Proms, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
Joining Eimear is acclaimed London-born uilleann piper Rita Farrell, whose deep connection to Irish traditional music has earned her recognition both in Ireland and internationally. An accomplished flute and piano player as well as an award-winning piper, Rita’s expressive musicianship and mastery of the pipes have made her a highly respected figure within the traditional music community.
Completing the trio is guitarist, pianist, and singer-songwriter Sinéad Egan, whose musical upbringing between London and Ireland immersed her in Irish traditional music from an early age. Influenced by legendary accompanists such as Kevin Taylor and Paddy Gallagher, Sinéad has developed a distinctive and sensitive style that beautifully complements traditional and contemporary song alike.
Together, these three outstanding performers promise an afternoon of exceptional musicianship, rich collaboration, and captivating traditional music in the intimate surroundings of An Cuan.
