Fiddlers Green Festival is honoured to welcome Cara Dillon, one of the most celebrated and influential voices in Irish folk music. Hailing from County Derry, Cara has spent three decades enchanting audiences with her extraordinary vocal talent and unwavering commitment to her cultural roots.
From her early days with groups like Óige and De Dannan to signing with Rough Trade and performing alongside symphony orchestras and film soundtracks, Cara’s career has spanned genres and generations. Alongside her husband and long-time collaborator Sam Lakeman, she has built a remarkable legacy that continues to captivate listeners across the globe.
Her 2024 release, Coming Home, marks her first album in over six years and is a poignant tribute to her native Derry. Seamlessly blending spoken word and song, it reflects on the landscapes, people, and stories that shaped her, and has already earned a shortlist nomination for Album of the Year at the NI Music Prize.
Cara’s voice—described by Mojo magazine as “quite possibly the world’s most beautiful female voice”—has earned admiration from artists like Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, and Sam Smith. Songs from her back catalogue recently featured on the hit TV series Derry Girls, further cementing her cultural impact.
This is a rare opportunity to hear Cara Dillon live in an intimate setting, performing a set that spans her career—from folk standards to deeply personal new work—with all the emotional depth and brilliance that defines her artistry.
