Albums such as Riverside\, The Acoustic Motorbike\, and Turf helped establish him as one of the defining voices in contemporary Irish folk music. \nNow celebrating more than fifty years of songwriting\, Luka continues to create and evolve. A leading exponent of the san nós style\, she is celebrated for the warmth\, clarity\, and expressive power of her voice\, and for her ability to communicate the depth of Ireland’s song tradition to audiences worldwide. Immersed from childhood in a vibrant cultural landscape of music\,song\, and dance\, she has developed a vocal and instrumental sound that is both distinctive and deeply rooted. \nFor this special concert\, Muireann is joined by a star-studded ensemble of some of Ireland’s most-accomplished traditional musicians and composers: \n\nAisling Lyons: multi-award winning musician & composer from County Clare has been described as ‘one of traditional music’s finest musicians’ by Hot Press Magazine & ‘the finest Irish harper at work today’ by Songlines Magazine after the release of her debut album ‘Aistear’.\nDónal O’Connor: leading fiddle player and producer from the Oriel region\, acclaimed for his extensive production credits and collaborations across Irish and Scottish traditions. DESCRIPTION:Saturday 18th July 2026 | 7:30pm | St Bronagh’s Social Club\, Rostrevor\nFiddlers Green Festival is honoured to welcome Lúnasa\, one of the most influential and celebrated bands in the history of Irish traditional music\, for a very special Hall of Fame concert in Rostrevor. \nFormed in 1997 and named after the ancient Celtic harvest festival honouring the god Lugh\, Lúnasa emerged from members of some of Ireland’s most iconic traditional groups and quickly established themselves as a revolutionary force within contemporary folk music. Combining complex arrangements\, exceptional musicianship\, and a dynamic rhythmic energy\, the band redefined the possibilities of traditional Irish music for a global audience. \nOver nearly three decades\, Lúnasa have sold more than a quarter of a million records and performed over 2\,500 concerts across 36 countries\, appearing at prestigious venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall\, The Hollywood Bowl\, Glastonbury Festival\, and Bercy Arena in Paris. Their collaborations with artists such as Natalie Merchant\, Mary-Chapin Carpenter\, and Tim O’Brien further expanded their international reach while maintaining a deep connection to the Irish tradition. \nThe current lineup features an extraordinary collection of musicians including Trevor Hutchinson\, Cillian Vallely\, Kevin Crawford\, Seán Smyth\, Colin Farrell\, and Ed Boyd — each recognised internationally for their contribution to Irish traditional music. \nThis concert also marks a significant occasion for the festival as Lúnasa become the 2026 recipients of the prestigious Fiddlers Green Festival Hall of Fame Award.
