Svend Erik, a seasoned folk singer and concert/festival organiser with a remarkable career spanning nearly 40 years. Hailing from Denmark, Svend Erik is widely recognised as a talented member of the renowned folk band Shamrock, drawing heavy influence from the rich tapestry of Irish music.
In 2007, Svend Erik released a captivating CD featuring translated Sands Family songs in Danish. The infectious melody of “When the Boys Come Rolling Home” from the album resonated with listeners, spending an impressive eleven weeks on the Danish charts.
Beyond his musical performances, Svend Erik and his wife Dorthe are passionate about organising festivals and curating folk music experiences. They have played instrumental roles in events such as Skagen Festival (the oldest festival in Denmark), the vibrant Stauning Jazz Festival, Folk95, and Muldbjerg Mill.
