Dermot Byrne, Brid Harper and Jim Murray are coming together to play Fiddler’s Green Festival in Rostrevor, Co Down on the 29th July 2023. This is guaranteed to be a superb night of music from three of Ireland’s finest.
These three artists have incredible musical credentials, namely with Altan, Sharon Shannon’s Band and Brid with many All-Irelands Fleadhs to her name.
Dermot is from Buncrana, Donegal and learned his music from his father Tomas O`Beirn from the age of 5. He joined Altan in 1993 and played with them for 20yrs. He has played with many musicians including Sharon Shannon, Frankie Gavin, Paddy Keenan, Tommy Peoples, Tim O’Brien and the late Jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli.
Jim Murray hails from Co Cork and is recognized as one of the best trad guitarists that Ireland has ever produced. He has recorded and toured with many of the greats of music – Sinead O’Connor, Steve Earl, Mary Black, Seamus Begley, Altan, Shane Mc Gowan and Sharon Shannon to name but a few.
Brid from Castlefinn, Donegal, has been hailed as one the leading exponents of traditional fiddle playing of our time. She has won senior All-Ireland, Fiddler of Dooney and Oireachtas winner in 1988. She has released her long awaited album in 2015 and has followed up more recently a new Album in 2022. She has toured with many of the greats Dermot Byrne, Steve Cooney, Tony O Connell, Arty Mc Glynn, Nollaig Casey, Maeve Donnelly, Harry Bradley, John Doyle, Sylvian Barou and Nicolas Quemener and many more.
